One of our awesome returning exhibitors is Caitlin from One Forever Films. She was at our first Tiny Weddings Fair on 30th Sept at the Wycombe Swan. We’re very excited to have her back representing her company One Forever Films at our second Tiny Weddings Fair in Birmingham, she will be coming along to the Birmingham Rep Theatre on 10th March 2019 to tell you why you need a videographer to capture your tiny wedding.
Tell us a little about yourself and what you do.
I am Caitlin, I am a wedding filmmaker with a real intense passion to tell your story. I am the owner of One Forever Films, a wedding videography service. I have been doing this for three years and I just love it! All my wedding films are unique because all my couples are unique with a different story and journey.
Why should a couple have a videograper at their wedding if they elope?
It might even be more important for couples eloping to have a videographer – it is so important to be able to capture those moments that only you will experience, a treasure to look back on and remember how great your wedding was. You won’t have any guests with their camera phones and you won’t be filming yourself! It is also a great idea to have a videographer so that your family and friends who aren’t there in person are able to watch your special day back and feel like a part of it. Your wedding day will be incredible, but it will also be over in a flash. What if someone said to you ‘I could give you the opportunity to relive the day and all the most precious moments, time and time again’? Wouldn’t you want that?.
Can you tell us about a destination wedding you have worked on and what you did for the couple?
In June I flew out to the South of France to spend a few days with Steph, Rob and their closest family and friends. Their celebrations started the day before the wedding with a Chinese Tea Ceremony (which of course I was their to capture) I then went onto their wedding venue to capture all the lovely surroundings and venue the day before so that on their wedding day I could focus on the people to make sure I didn’t miss a single special moment. Then post wedding day called for a fun, relaxed pool party. Their destination wedding was epic…and so was their film!
What do you love about tiny weddings?
I love that tiny weddings are all about celebrating with those who are the most important people in your life. For some couples it is great to have wedding with all their friends from school or university but there isn’t always the opportunity to speak to everyone, and often guests can get left out. A tiny wedding means you spend the whole day celebrating with those who you literally can’t live without, a chance to speak to everyone and share some truly amazing memories with them.
What do you love about elopements?
I love that an elopement is even more intimate than a tiny wedding, the idea of a couple being the entire focus and spending a day celebrating their love with each other is magical. It is also kind of a videographers’ and photographers’ dream!
Do you feel there has been an increase in destination weddings in the past few years?
Definitely! More and more couples are choosing a destination wedding, not only is their wedding day set in the most stunning surroundings with pretty much guaranteed sunshine, but they also get to wake up on their honeymoon! A destination wedding is more than a day, you turn it into a wedding weekend with guests arriving before and staying on a few days, more time to celebrate with family, friend and each other. Whilst a standard videography package may include ‘getting ready to first dance’, more often than not, I find myself working way after hours at my destination weddings. I can’t help but be completely swept in by the beautiful surroundings and the care-free enjoyment amongst you and your guests, clearly embracing full holiday mode. I’m no stranger to turning up for footage of pre-wedding, arrival drinks or post-wedding pool parties either!
