Come along to the Tiny Weddings Fair at the Birmingham REP on 10th March to meet lots of wedding vendors who want to help make your small wedding go exactly how you want it to. Suzanne, from Artisan Epicurean is a personal chef, and provides bespoke catering services for all sizes of event. She can’t wait to meet couples at the Tiny Weddings Fair, to discuss how she can cater for their gathering.
Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name is Suzanne and I’m a personal chef. I provide bespoke catering solutions tailored entirely around you, your guests and in a venue of your choosing. I’ve worked in the industry for over two decades and love working on such a personal level with my clients in achieving the most perfect day possible.
What do you love about small weddings and/or elopements?
Generally the couples are very clear about what they want. The smaller, more intimate weddings really allow for more personal detailing and an exclusive experience for all.
What are the main differences in the way you do business when dealing with a couple planning a smaller wedding?
It becomes a personal and professional relationship in the lead up and planning stages. I have to get to know the couple and their aspirations for the day to understand what will work for them. All the little details and personal touches can be incorporated to tailor a package that is simply unique to them.
Do you feel there has been an increase in tiny weddings in the past few years or have you always worked with a lot of small wedding parties?
I feel there has been an increase, as more couples choose an exclusive memorable experience favouring superior quality over quantity
If you could work on a tiny wedding anywhere in the world, any theme, any couple; where or what or whom would it be?
Purely down to my heritage, I would choose Italy for the produce, the climate and the breathtaking views.
Give an example of a tiny wedding you have worked on and what you did for the couple?
I catered a wedding for a couple who had teepees staged in their garden for the wedding weekend. I took care of the entire catering offering from a pre wedding dinner the evening before to canapés and a champagne reception on the big day, personalised handmade favour boxes and snacks at midnight and breakfast the following morning for the happy couple with their remaining guests.
What makes you unique in the service you can offer a couple planning a smaller wedding?
My services are unique in that everything I do is completely personal and bespoke to you. Menus are completely tailored around your preferences, perhaps an inspiration from a memorable meal or a favourite dish that you want to incorporate, a private joke or a shared love of scallops, whatever it is, it’s the tiny details that make a big impact.
