Free Engagement Photo Sessions – Raffle Prizes with your Tiny Weddings Fair Ticket

free engagement shoot

It might seem a little illogical to have photographs taken shortly before you spend a whole day being photographed but engagement session can serve a purpose and also be a fun way to take some time out of wedding planning to remember why you are getting married in the first place.

Two of the photographers exhibiting at the Tiny Weddings Fair at the Wycombe Swan on 30th September have kindly offered a free engagement shoot as a raffle prize.  RS Brown Photography and Ayelle Photography will be at the Tiny Weddings Fair waiting to meet you, but if you want to get to know them better then an engagement session is a great way to do that.  All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is buy your tickets in advance.  Here are our reasons why an engagement shoot is a great idea…

  1. Engagement session give you time to celebrate your relationship and share some quality time together.

Wedding planning, even for a tiny wedding, can be stressful and pile the pressure on you as a couple. It can seem like every conversation revolves around outfit, meal and venue choices and sometimes it’s nice to remember what those choices are really all about.

Whether it’s a few hours spent in your favourite location or half day spent sharing your hobbies and interests, an engagement shoot gives you plenty of opportunity to reconnect during the planning and the chance to celebrate a milestone in your relationship. Your engagement is a special time when you chose to commit to each other and a time to celebrate love and marriage prior to your wedding day.

  1. A chance to rehearse your wedding photos.

I am yet to find any couple where both parties enjoy having their photographs taken.  Even if you’re totally at ease in front of the lens the chances are your partner isn’t! If you’re struggling with the idea of being photographed on your wedding day or just feel like you never look good in photos it can be a great idea to get those nerves out of the way before the big day.

Getting used to posing in a way you are comfortable with, making sure you get over the giggles or find out what style you want your photos to be are important to getting great photos and, if you have no idea where to start, an engagement session can help you clarify what works for you. And the more you know the less anxious you will be about your wedding day photography.

  1. Perfect images for your wedding website.

If you’re eloping in secret or need to keep your small party on track with changing plans you are probably looking at having a wedding website where you guests can follow your adventures. It will amaze you how many terrible photos you have as a couple when you come to make it! Seriously! Wonky selfies with heads slightly cut off, badly lit party pictures or images of yourselves at other peoples weddings just won’t cut the mustard to get your wedding website up to date.

So what better way to share your joy with the world than filling your wedding website with beautiful new, professional pictures of you as a couple. Whatever your style, funny, classy, smart or glamorous you engagement photos will show your friends and family what to expect from your wedding day.

  1. Help you decide on a certain style of photography or photographer.

You may not have any idea as to what style of photography you would like on your wedding day or you may have a selection of photographers that you like and want to see how you’ll get on with them during your wedding day. This is especially important if they might be a large percentage of your wedding guests! If you have 10 people accompanying your big day and 10% of them is your photographer you definitely want to make sure you get along and both parties understand what you’re looking for.

Working closely with a photographer can also give you a chance to learn the lingo and work out what you do and don’t like in style. You can take a selection of more formal photos alongside carefree, actions shots and see what suits you best. Learning to communicate what you want can be an experience in itself and it well worth getting right prior to your wedding!

  1. It’s a great chance to try out new looks.

If you’re not sure what looks good on you, you can use your engagement sessions to try out different styles of hair, makeup and clothing. You may find that your idea of the perfect hair and clothing combination looks terrible in photographs or that your chosen cut of suit just doesn’t suit you!

What looks good in the mirror doesn’t always looks great on film and vice-versa. Your engagement shoot can give you the opportunity to try out different styles, get your hair style sorted, and make decisions on what is going to look best in your wedding photos.

Even for those who don’t necessarily feel “engaged” I would highly recommend having a small photo shoot before the day if your photos are important to you. It gives you more time during your wedding photos to get the images you want knowing you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.  RS Brown Photography and Ayelle Photography will be at the Tiny Weddings Fair at the Wycombe Swan on 30th September waiting to meet you.  They have both very kindly offered a free engagement shoot as a raffle prize.  If you’re looking to try some mini-sessions or book an engagement shoot before your big day then come along and speak with the photographers and videographers who specialise in intimate celebrations at the Tiny Weddings Fair.  All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is buy your tickets in advance.  And if you are one of the first 100 people to buy tickets then you’ll also get a goody bag on the day, but be quick because they are selling fast!

Perks of Buying your Tickets in Advance

Perks of Buying Tickets in Advance - Tiny Wedding Fair

If you live close to High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, England and you are newly engaged or planning a wedding and you are considering keeping your guest list short, then our new wedding fair could be for you.  The fair will focus on the needs of couples who are planning a small wedding or elopement, either at home or abroad. It is a wedding fair for those with BIG LOVE but a small guest list.

The organisers of the fair have been working with couples who are about to have, or have just had a small wedding or elopement for some years now and we think we have a good idea of what interests them.  Many couples might feel that they want to keep their guest list short and want to know what options they have but feel that they don’t know where to begin.  We think we can help.

There are two ways to get in to the Tiny Weddings Fair.  One is to buy your ticket in advance for £4 and the other is to buy your ticket on the door for £8.  We really want to know how many people are coming to our fair in advance so we’re offering a big discount to those who plan ahead.  We’re a small fair and numbers matter so we want to be able to predict how many people who are going to walk through that door.

If the 50% discount off on-the-day prices doesn’t convince you to buy a ticket in advance then how about these perks;

Goody Bags

The first 100 people to purchase tickets will get a goody bag.  So, if there are two tickets or three tickets purchased in one name, then we will give you one goody bag.  This is because we will assume that you’re together and you can share the contents.  That way more people get the goodies and nothing is wasted.  It will be a handy monogrammed re-usable bag.  It will be full of extra-special goodies; discount vouchers that could really make a dent in your wedding spend, and unique items from some of our suppliers.

Privilege Admission to Workshops and Talks

Our exhibitors and other experts will be holding talks in a room upstairs from the exhibition area.  They will be telling couples about things like how you can get married abroad, or how to find the photographer or outfit to suit you.  Much of this stuff is quite difficult to make sense of online, and groups will be kept small so couples will be able to ask questions easily.  The room is not huge, it will seat around fifty, and we have to offer preferential entry somehow, so we’ve decided to let those with advance purchase tickets in first and then everyone else can come in if there’s space.  We do encourage early arrivals and pre-booking for those talks you are really interested in!

Raffle Entry

If you buy a ticket in advance we will enter you in our raffles to be held on the day.  Prizes include exclusive gifts from the places our exhibitors are offering weddings in, items created by our exhibitors, and engagement photo sessions with some of our photographers.  Follow our Facebook page for updates on prizes being donated to the raffles.

So, what are you waiting for?  Get yourself a ticket now!

Everyone who visits will get a supplier brochure, containing lots of further information about those who have been exhibiting at the fair, and some other suppliers who we think will be of interest to anyone planning an elopement or a small wedding.
Follow our Facebook page for helpful and inspiring articles and information, and show your interest in our Facebook event to see updates.
